Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about converting your website into a mobile app.

General

How does WebToApp work?

We take your existing responsive website and wrap it in a native mobile app shell. This allows you to have a presence on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store without rebuilding your entire platform from scratch. Your app will update automatically whenever you update your website. You can open a free demo of your site in a phone on your dashboard, and optionally download Android/iOS demo files. Production AAB/IPA uses credits.

Do I need to know how to code?

Not at all! Our platform is designed to be user-friendly and requires no coding knowledge. You simply provide your website URL, configure your app's appearance (icon, splash screen, etc.), and we handle the technical details of building the app.

Does my website need to be responsive?

Yes, for the best user experience, your website should be mobile-friendly / responsive. Since the app essentially displays your website, it will look and feel exactly like your website does on a mobile browser.

Features & Capabilities

Can I send push notifications?

Yes. Unlock either the OneSignal add-on (send from the OneSignal dashboard) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (send from your own Firebase project and backend). Both cost 9 credits once per app; only one can be enabled in a given build.

How do app updates work?

Content Updates: Any changes you make to your website content are instantly reflected in your app, just like in a browser. No update needed.

App Updates: If you want to change the app icon, splash screen, or app name, you will need to create a new build and submit an update to the App Store / Google Play.

What happens if a user loses internet?

The app needs a connection to load your site. If a page fails (offline, timeout, or after the app was in the background), users see a branded retry screen covering the WebView—not the browser error page. A healthy React/Next.js session is left in place when they return; Retry reloads only after a failed load.

Pricing & Payments

Is there a monthly subscription?

No, we operate on a pay-as-you-go model. You only pay for the services you use (like building your app or requesting an update). There are no recurring monthly fees to keep your app running.

What happens if I stop paying?

Since there is no subscription, your app will continue to work indefinitely after you've built and published it. You only need to pay again if you want to update the native app shell (e.g., to change the app icon or add new native features). Content updates on your website are automatically reflected in the app for free.

Can I get a refund?

As stated in our Terms of Service, credit purchases are non-refundable. Create an app and run the free Android/iOS demo before you buy credits. Credits are only charged when a production build succeeds.

App Store Submission

Do you guarantee App Store approval?

While we help you prepare your app for submission, the final approval decision lies with Apple and Google. We ensure our app wrappers adhere to technical guidelines, but your website content must also comply with their policies.

Do I need my own developer accounts?

Yes, both Apple ($99/year) and Google ($25 one-time fee) require you to have your own developer accounts to publish apps. This ensures the apps are listed under your name or company, giving you full control and ownership.
